Rowan Hackett: Brewed

If it’s only a game, why does it still hurt so much? After a sold-out WIP last year and a well-received debut at the Edinburgh Fringe, Rowan brings Brewed back to Glasgow. One woman's complicated relationship with football, family and forgiveness, as seen through the bottom of a pint glass. Full of clever one-liners and bags of self-deprecating wit, Brewed follows Rowan's journey from the carefree vodka and lemonade years through to IPA, parenthood and pizza crunch suppers. Rowan plays a pressing game with great dribbling, fast thinking and moments of genius. Her gung-ho style leaves her vulnerable to the counter-attack and she doesn't cope too well with balls into the box. But when she's on top of her game, she's a match for anyone!“A lovely, touching, heartfelt show, funny without forcing the laughs and packed with enough personal history to make you care regardless of football allegiances” **** (One4Review)
