Irie Vibes 17th Birthday feat. Mikey Don

Irie Vibes Sound System is 17 years old! We have been so blessed to have a monthly event in York for so long; and to be invited to play all over the UK and Ireland in that time too, at various venues, carnivals and festivals. Long may it continue! To celebrate: we are welcoming back one of our favourite DJs and toasters for a long overdue return. An enigmatic character with unbelivable knowledge, skill, style and selection when it comes to sound system business! The legendary MIKEY D.O.N! From starting reggae sound systems as a youth; to pioneering UK hiphop in the 80s and 90s as part of Krispy 3 - as well as being involved in the birth of the rave scene at the same time; to curating legendary funk / soul / disco club nights such as TAKE 5. This man has done it all, and in all genres of music too! Currently you can find him performing all over the world, being a resident DJ at Band On The Wall (Manchester) for all manner of legendary artists, and going b2b all night with Mr. Scruff on a regular basis. This will be a show to remember! Support from the Irie Vibes crew playing everything from reggae, roots and ska, to dub, steppas and jungle on the full Irie Vibes Sound System.
