This Christmas Khaya and Freddie Lennox bring their signature melodic magic to the Troubadour – prepare for a musical extravaganza of mellow folk, smoky Christmas ballads, and some groovy rock and roll to finish the night off – not a show to be missed!
Freddie Lennox was born in Chichester, West Sussex. Penning his first song at 14, he has been quietly building a body of work, deepening his influences, and developing his songcraft for the last 12 years. The culmination of this first stage of his journey is his debut album, recorded with legendary producer Ethan Johns (Laura Marling, Kings of Leon, Ray La Montagne, Paolo Nutini). He has played the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, the Birmingham Symphony Hall, Chris Evans’ Breakfast show, the Isle of Wight Festival, and venues across London including the Green Note, Koko and regular headline shows at the Troubadour. He was the opening act for every night of Roger Taylor’s Violence Insane in a Beautiful World Tour, playing Camden Roundhouse, Swansea Arena, Newcastle City Hall and more – and was, according to RockDocumented’s review, “a huge hit with the crowd.” He has opened for Jool’s Holland’s last 3 Summer tours, playing in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Birmingham, Plymouth, Weymouth, Tunbridge Wells and Buxton.
KHAYA is a singer songwriter who draws influence from soulful jazz and blues artists such as, Etta James and Billie Holiday. Her warm tone and deeply descriptive lyrics aim to tug at the heartstrings whilst being a cathartic experience for the listener. She’s back at the Troubadour and she can’t wait to serenade you!
