Morten Remar

Profile:

Danish author, singer, songwriter and music producer.

Singer, songwriter, musician and producer who has been a central figure on the Danish music scene, where he both as a soloist and member of groups such as Back To Back has played funk and pop.

Morten Remar started singing in the rock band Suvivovs and the techno band Marquess but his career only really started in Bon-Bon, which from 1980 to 1985 played at high school parties and at venues all over the country. The band was based in Elsinore and Espergærde and built their party-minded, funky music on technically skilled play.

From 1986, Morten started a collaboration with Nis Bøgvad from Ballerup. Based in a studio in Valby and in Remar's home studio in Elsinore, the duo wrote and produced electronic funk songs and sharp pop songs with inspiration from Prince, Michael Jackson and Scritti Politti. As De Andre Gør became a big radio hit and under the title Perfect Girl (12 ″, A&M, 1988) the hit was launched in the USA, remixed by David Cole and Robert Clivillés. The number reached a 31st place on the Billboard Top100 remix.

In 1998, Morten released the Danish-language album Solo, and subsequently toured the country's music scene.
