Woods of Ypres

Woods of Ypres was a unique blackened doom metal band founded in Windsor, Ontario in 2002 by only constant member David Gold.

Lyrically and thematically the music often describes bleak life, sadness and later heartbreak. Their final album Woods 5: Grey Skies & Electric Light was posthumously released in 2012, and awarded the 2013 Juno award for “Metal/Hard Rock Music Album of the Year” following David Gold’s tragic passing in 2011.
