Abbath

Abbath is a black metal band formed in 2015 by former Immortal guitarist and vocalist Abbath Doom Occulta (Olve Eikemo).

The band was founded after Olve’s departure from Immortal. While steel being a black metal act, the band has a lot of black ‘n’ roll in its music. That is largely due to the frontman’s love of hard rock and traditional heavy metal, which is in many ways influenced by Motörhead and Lemmy personally.

The band’s main composer is frontman Olve Eikemo (with some contributions from lead guitarist Ole Andra Farstad). All lyrics for the band were written by Simon Dancaster, although he’s not officially a member of the band. His lyrics are known for use of archaic words and also neologisms (for example the name of the second album Outstrider).
