singles for Stoned & Dethroned

Stoned and Dethroned is JAMC's first new recording since their 1992 label debut, Honey's Dead. Produced and written entirely by JAMC founders Jim and William Reid, the new album is a striking departure from their customary feedback-laden heavy rock that they pioneered a decade ago. Stoned and Dethroned is a lilting, largely acoustic-based recording of seventeen new songs.

The debut single, "Sometimes Always," is an engaging duet sung with Hope Sandoval of Mazzy Star. Stoned and Dethroned is the fifth and latest full-length album from one of the seminal British bands of the last several years. The Jesus And Mary Chan made its debut in 1984 with the single "Upside Down," and followed this with a string of classic U.K. singles throughout the next year. The band made its LP debut with Psychocandy in 1985, followed by Darklands (1987), the compilation Barbed Wire Kisses (1988), Automatic (1989), and Honey's Dead (1992).

Over the years, the band has toured the world, including the 1992 Lollapalooza Tour. Beginning this fall, The Jesus And Mary Chain will return to the concert stage when they embark on a new American tour. In addition to the release of Stoned and Dethroned, the band also contributed the song "Snakedriver" to the #1 smash hit soundtrack from "The Crow."
