Michael York, known professionally as SUAHN, is an American bass music producer. Blending elements of acid, techno, and bass-driven music, he is described as “...wildly innovative…” (Dancing Astronaut) creating a style of music that cannot easily be defined. SUAHN began his career as a musician while founding and playing guitar in the post-hardcore outfit Pianos Become The Teeth (Epitaph Records).
No stranger to touring, he has spent the better part of the last decade traveling and playing everywhere from punk warehouse shows in Berlin to amphitheaters in Sydney, and in the fall months of 2019, he completed his first tour under the SUAHN name with Dubloadz in support of his House of Ghosts EP.
Now in 2021, SUAHN has gained the attention of heavy hitters such as Boombox Cartel, Liquid Stranger, and Louis The Child. He was asked to take part in Boombox Cartel's annual Cinco Mode event where he debuted his full audio/visual live set that feels equal parts raw warehouse techno and a disorienting, paranoid, PSA video that seems to always ask, "Where am I and how did I get here?"
SUAHN continues to push his music into new, angular directions both musically and visually, with no end in sight. If you're looking for a unique take on what can only be described as unapologetically raw techno-infused bass music, look no further than here.
