The New Seekers

‘The New Seekers’ was a band formed in 1969 by Keith Potger after ‘The Seekers’ broke up. They would find success in the early Seventies thanks to songs like “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing” (which was a full, modified version of “I’d Like to Buy the World a Coke”, a song featured in an insanely popular Coca-Cola commercial) and “Beg, Steal or Borrow”.

The original group contained Keith Potger, Laurie Heath, Chris Barrington, Eve Graham, Marty Kristian, and Sally Graham.

After failing to see success, the lineup was reworked with Lyn Paul, Peter Doyle, and Paul Layton replacing Sally Graham, Chris Barrington and Laurie Heath.

In 1973, Peter Doyle would leave the group and be replaced by Peter Oliver. The group would disband in 1974 but would be revived two years later with Lyn Paul and Peter Oliver being replaced by Kathy Ann Rae and Danny Finn.

The lineup for The New Seekers had a few changes with members Nicola Kerr, Caitriona Walsh, Donna Jones, Francine Rees, Mick Flinn, Vikki James, Brian Engel, Vivien Banks, Isobel Davies, Jill Franklyn, and Mark Hankins taking up temporary spots. The New Seekers' last tour was in 2010.
