DJ and Brazilian music producer of electronic music, Alok Achkar Peres Petrillo (pronounced /ˈalˈɔk/) is one of the most famous brazilian DJ’s/Artist. His parents were the precursors of psy trance in the country, creating one of the country’s most famous festivals, Universo Paralelo. He accompanied his parents' performances alongside his twin brother Bhaskar. With it, the duo released a totally authorial album by the independent label Vagalume Records and Liquid Records arriving to do shows in about 19 countries, in addition to their songs being featured in the Beatport virtual store.

In 2010, he decided to pursue a solo career, changing from genre to house music, which he calls Brazilian bass. Alok released some songs, becoming prominent in the market, being requested in several national and international festivals. After signing a contract with Dutch label Spinnin' Records, he released the song “Hear Me Now” featuring Bruno Martini with vocals and composition by Marcos Zeeba. The song achieved in just one month 10 million views on YouTube and consecrated Alok as the first Brazilian artist to get 100 million plays on the streaming platform Spotify and to reach the top 50 most played songs in the service. It was also certified as a platinum record in Italy by the Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana (FIMI), in addition to entering musical charts in several countries.

Petrillo eventually became one of the most prominent icons of the Brazilian electronic scene, with honors and awards, such as; “Best DJ in Brazil” by the British magazine DJ Magazine in 2015, and being the only Brazilian in the top 25 in the world the following year. In 2017, he was elected by Forbes Brasil as one of the country’s 91 most influential people under 30 years . He is still the founder of the record label UP Club Records, a record label specializing in discovering new talents in electronic music and of Artist Factory, an artistic management company for musicians of the electronic scene – especially his record company, in partnership with Audiomix, Artists of the genre “sertanejo”.
