Pink Siifu

AKA: Livingston Matthews

About Pink Siifu

Livingston Matthews (born 1992), better known by his stage name Pink Siifu, is an American rapper, singer-songwriter and producer from Birmingham, Alabama.

Born in Alabama, Matthews moved to Cincinnati, Ohio when he was six years old. During fifth and sixth grade he played trumpet before switching to drums. He started writing poetry and rapping during his freshman year of college. After dropping out, he started making rap music under the name Liv Martez.

In 2013 he left Cincinnati and moved to Los Angeles, CA, dropping his stage name and splitting his musical vision into two personae: the vocalist moniker Pink Siifu (pink is one of his favorite colors and the Mandarin term “shifu” is a title for a skillful person or a master) and the production moniker iiye (a reference to the third eye). Using those two aliases he started building a prolific catalog on Bandcamp, putting out seven short projects in 2014, five in 2015, and ten in 2016. In 2018 he released his breakout project, ensley.

Beside his solo work, he is part of duo B. Cool Aid with producer Ahwlee and he has released collaborative projects with YUNGMORPHEUS (Bag Talk) and AKAI SOLO (Black Sand).
