Japanese Breakfast

Japanese Breakfast is the solo project of Eugene, Oregon’s Michelle Zauner of emo band Little Big League.

Her first album, Psychopomp, was written following the death of her mother and released in 2016. After touring with acts such as Mitski and Porches, her second album Soft Sounds from Another Planet was released in 2017. Japanese Breakfast’s third album, Jubilee, released in 2021.

Michelle cites “tenderloin Pacific Northwest bands” as her influences, including Elliot Smith, Grandaddy, Built to Spill, and Death Cab for Cutie.
