The Naked and Famous

The Naked and Famous are an indie electronic band from Auckland, New Zealand. Most of their music has featured on multiple platforms ranging from video games like FIFA 12 to TV series like Breaking Bad.

Young Blood was a hit from the band’s debut album Passive Me, Aggressive You. It won the APRA Silver Scroll in 2010. After touring through 24 countries and playing 200 shows, the band settled down in Los Angeles and released their second studio album In Rolling Waves in 2013. In 2016 the band released their third album Simple Forms.

The name, The Naked and Famous, was taken from the song Tricky Kid by Tricky. As guitarist and vocalist Thom Powers put it:

At the time it just seemed obviously ironic for us cause we were just a small indie band with small and realistic ambitions.
