About Peter Criss

George Peter John Criscuola (AKA Peter Criss) was born on December 20, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York. He was a founding member and drummer for American hard rock band KISS from 1973-1980, 1996-2001 and 2002-2004. As of now, he is retired.

Growing up, Criss played in several bands before joining KISS in 1972. From then on he established his legacy as the first Catman. He left in 1980, but came back eighteen years late in 1995 to drum for “Into The Void” from KISS’s 1998 album, Psycho Circus.
