About Superchick

Superchick (stylized as Superchic[k]) was a Christian Rock/Pop-Punk band that hails from Chicago IL. The band consisted of lead singer Tricia Brock, guitarist and sister to Tricia, Melissa Brock, bassist Matt Dally, guitarist Dave Ghazarian, DJ. producer, and keyboard player Max Hsu, and drummer Brandon Estelle. They are known for their hit song, “Stand in the Rain” which stood at #1 for nine weeks in the Christian Hit Radio chart. The band got their start in 1999 at an Audio Adrenaline concert. After that, they became a hit and performed at other events.

They released their first album Karaoke Superstars independently in 2000 with their first release with Inpop records, Last One Picked following behind. In 2005, Beauty from Pain was released which featured an edited version of the song “Stories (Down to the Bottom)” originally featured on the tobyMac album, “Welcome to Diverse City”. The same album also features the hit songs “We Live”, and “Beauty from Pain”. In 2006 the album was re-released to mainstream audiences and appropriately renamed “Beauty from Pain 1.1” which featured the hit single, “Stand in the Rain”.

In 2008, the band’s fourth studio album, Rock What You Got was released. This album contained a “symphonic mix” of “Stand in the Rain”. in 2010, their second remix album, Reinvention was released and it featured two solo songs by Tricia Brock and Matt Dally respectively. In 2013, the band’s current drummer at the time, Chase Lovelace died of cancer and the band wrote the song “This Is The Time” and dedicated it to him. The same song is also featured in the movie “God’s Not Dead”. In August 2013, Superchick disbanded due to the fact that each member had their own individual obligations and plans. Their final album, Recollection was released in 2013 and it featured five new songs, six songs from past albums and five remixes. In 2016, Superchick reunited one last time at Lifest to perform their final show.
