Mustasch

About Mustasch

Mustasch best known for their songs “Thank You For The Demon”, “Lawbreaker” and “Double Nature” was formed in 1998 in Gothenburg, Sweden by Ralf Gyllenhammar and Hannes Hansson. They planned on making music that they themselves liked without caring what others would think of it with no compromising. Stam Johansson and Mats ”Dojan” Hansson soon joined the band, and did so not only because they liked the music but also for the reason behind the bands name which was chosen because Mustaches were worn by all the ’70s hard rock musicians, like Tony Iommi, John Lord, Freddie Mercury, David Byron etc.

In 2008 Hannes Hansson left the band to spend time with his family, and was replaced with David Johannesson (ex Sparzanza).
A year later they had more band member problems, Mats ”Dojan” Hansson had to leave the band right in the middle of a studio session due to chronical arthritis. It was a problem that had been growing on him over the previous years and sometimes drummer Danne McKenzie helped the band out when needed in live performances. He was therefore the natural person to replace “Dojan” permanently in march 2009.
A few years later Danne chose to leave the band since Danne and Ralf had different musical opinions and didn’t want to jeopardize their friendship. So Danne was replaced by Jejo Perkovic (ex Candlemass, Infinite Mass). Jejo was replaced by Robban Bäck in 2015.

On February 6th, 2023 it was announced on Instagram that Stam Johansson, David Johannesson, and Robban Bäck had chosen to leave the band.
Pontus Snibb, Niklas Matsson, and Martin Ekelund, all from the Swedish band Bonafide will fill in the instrumental positions.
