Bread was a soft rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1968 by David Gates, Jimmy Griffin, and Robb Royer. In 1969, Mike Botts joined as the drummer, and Royer was replaced by Larry Knechtel in 1971. They had several hits between 1970-1977, with 13 songs charting on the Billboard Hot 100.
