About Lagwagon

Though subject to several lineup changes, the sound of Lagwagon has always been anchored in the prototypically snotty SoCal vocals of Joey Cape and the tight, dense, melodic precision of guitarist Chris Flippin. After emerging from the post-Descendents skate-punk scene that birthed peers like NOFX and No Use For A Name, Lagwagon quickly made a name for themselves with a trio of beloved LPs in the early-to-mid ’90s: DUH, TRASHED, and HOSS. All three combined surfer-friendly tempos and hooks with a metallic crunch, and a goofy sense of humor shown by covers of classics like “Brown Eyed Girl” and “Bad Moon Rising.” The band is still actively touring, although recording has slowed down considerably since the late ’90s, most recently resulting in 2008’s I THINK MY OLDER BROTHER USED TO LISTEN TO LAGWAGON.
