American blues vocalist, songwriter and label owner, also known as St. Louis Jimmy Oden. Co-founded the Chicago blues label J.O.B. Records in 1949 and Fury Records (10) in 1955. He wrote and originally recorded the blues standard 'Goin' Down Slow'.

Began his career with Roosevelt Sykes in the 1920s, and enjoyed a prolific recording career in the 1930s and 1940s, recording for Bluebird (3), Bullet (2), and Miracle (2), among others.

Born June 26, 1903 in Nashville, Tennessee, died December 30, 1977 in Chicago, Illinois.
