About Parker Bossley

Canadian-bred singer/bassist Parker Bossley first came to the public's attention as a member of Hot Hot Heat in 2008, before launching his solo career. In 2018, he issued the '80s synth-pop-influenced single "Lifted." Raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Bossley started playing music at a young age. By the time he was 15, he had dropped out of school to tour with his indie rock band the Heck, who had signed with Bif Naked's Her Royal Majesty's Records label. From there, he also spent several years with the emo/dance-rock outfit Fake Shark-Real Zombie. In 2008, he came to wider recognition as the bassist of Hot Hot Heat, with whom he recorded the band's 2010 fourth album Future Breeds, and their 2016 eponymous farewell. Also during this period, he stayed active with other projects: the Gay Nineties with Heck drummer Malcolm Holt, the electronic duo Fur Trade with Hot Hot Heat-singer Steve Bays, and recording with Fan Death. He eventually relocated to Los Angeles, where he lived for a time in an AirBNB RV in East Los Angeles. He also continued to branch out, contributing to Fitz and the Tantrums' eponymous 2016 album, as well as projects by No Sinner, DJ Sleepy Tom, Dear Rouge, and others. In 2018, he issued his own buoyant, dance-oriented single "Chemicals." A second single, "Lifted," arrived the following year. ~ Matt Collar
