Trettioåriga Kriget

Profile:

Swedish progressive rock band, formed in Saltsjöbaden south of Stockholm in 1970. Their name in English is "Thirty Years War". The band is usually counted among the prog movement.
The group was formed when the members were still in high school. After rehearsing for a few years, the band had created a unique sound that had no equivalent in Swedish music. The band got a record contract with CBS and the debut album, the self-titled "Trettioåriga Kriget", was released in 1974. The debut was followed by "Krigssång" (1975), "Hej på er!" (1978) and "Mot alla odds" (1979).
In 1980, the band changed its name to just Kriget and under this name released the album "Kriget" in 1981. After that, the group split. A first reunion took place in 1992 when the band celebrated the re-release of "Krigssång". In 1996, they were reunited once again for two concerts at Mosebacke in Stockholm in connection with the release of the live album "Glorious War 1970-1971". In 2003, the band reunited for the third time and the following year released the album "Elden av år", with only new material. This was followed by "I början och slutet" (2007) and "Efter efter" (2011). Their follow-up album "Seaside Air" was released on March 14, 2016; the only one that contains songs in English (except for the album Glorious War 1970-1971 which contains songs that were recorded during that time). "Till Horisonten" was released in 2021.
