A night celebrating the life and work of Jason Molina. The final part of the night will see a live performance of Jason Molina (Songs: Ohia, Magnolia Electric Co) songs by Brown Horse with a supporting cast of special guest performers are Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip), Eaves Wilder, Elanor Moss, Marco Pini (RIP Magic), Max Winter (Songs: Ohia), Naima Bock, and Owen Williams (The Tubs). Brown Horse make twangy and thoughtful indie rock, delicately arranged, but unafraid of building a yowling wall of guitars, accordion, and pedal steel. The Norwich, England-based group, which is the joint project of four songwriters (Patrick Turner, Emma Tovell, Nyle Holihan & Rowan Braham), released their third album, Total Dive, earlier this year, just ahead of their first North American tour. Distorted, teary-eyed and country-tinged, this is music for long lonely drives and late, late nights in strange places. FILM TITLE: FAREWELL TRANSMISSION 60 mins Secretly Canadian & Deeper Into Movies present Farewell Transmission-an archival time capsule celebrating the life and music of singer-songwriter Jason Molina, spanning the years 1997-2017. Farewell Transmission is a one hour long cinematic mix tape of live footage and performances pulled from the Secretly Canadian video archives, fan recordings, and unearthed treasures from the darker corners of the internet, remembering and rejoicing in all the incarnations of Jason's beloved career, including Songs: Ohia, Magnolia Electric Co., and his solo work.
