After back to back sell-outs in 2025 & 2026, Back To Back festival returns to Brudenell Social Club on Saturday 23rd January 2027 as part of Independent Venue Week. Starting as an event showcasing some of the amazing bands who call Leeds home, the festival has naturally progressed into welcoming upcoming acts from all across the UK, whilst still committing 50% of the line-up to local acts, with 'Home' & 'Away' stages. The first announce for 2027 is here, with Bristol's finest power-pop quintet The Cindys, Leeds DIY-rockers Normal Village, the mesmerising alt-folk of Oscar Browne, the delicate jazz infused folk soundscapes of Rhiannon Hope, Brighton post-rock/folk outfit Ladylike & Leeds' newest mystery Laughing making their debut live outing. Plus loads more still to be announced! To ensure live music and the discovery of new artists is accessible to all, the festival remains priced at under £5 for advance tickets. Early-bird tickets sold out in less than 24 hours, so don't wait around and get your tickets now whilst you still can. -- THE CINDYS - Following the cult success of their self-titled mixtape, The Cindys return just a year later with their full length debut 'Love Century', released via Breakfast Records on the 19th November. Rooted in the DIY mythology of 80s indie, it's an off-kilter love letter to the power of the major label debut (though of course without the major label backing), finding a perfect balance between pop sensibility and tape aesthetic. Full to the brim with hooks, 'Love Century' embodies the enduring thrill of melody, friendship and rock and roll, and the transformative power of stripping everything back to find the signal in the noise. - NORMAL VILLAGE - Normal Village are a Leeds DIY favourite with a knack for chaos, charm, and oddly coordinated brilliance. Village are one of those bands shaped first and foremost by the community around them. They've spent the last few years bouncing between Leeds' DIY stages, tightening their songs in real time and figuring out their sound by simply playing it a lot. Rising out from the chaos and community of the city's bustling DIY-gig scene, Normal Village's debut EP feels lifted right from a dark, sweaty and crammed basement somewhere off Hyde Park. Fusing together a scorching, breakneck mix of punk, indie, Math-Rock and post-hardcore, Normal Village scream, batter and howl through 20 minutes of slanted time signatures and raging volumes, guitars sparking off each other, igniting fires. - OSCAR BROWNE - Hailing from North London, Oscar Browne is the twenty-five-year young multi-instrumentalist-come-singer-songwriter, who's spellbinding style of meticulous alt-folk, is a contemporary force of seminal nature. Building a world out of pine trees and finger-picked-mortar, and nesting warmly within the branches of Stephen Fretwell, Nick Mulvey, and John Martyn, Oscar Browne's roots lie in the foundational intricacy of golden-age songwriting. A founding member of the London based folk-collective Broadside Hacks (amongst other banded-ventures), Oscar Browne's creative-capability is a limitless array of captivating delights; a timeless sense of musical magnitude which'll only keep growing with fine prowess, as Browne continues to cut his teeth as a beguiling 'must-see' artist with a widely regarded live-show. - RHIANNON HOPE - Helming from Leeds-via-Liverpool, Rhiannon Hope has quickly found her footing in Yorkshire's grassroots scene, collecting a unique band of multi-instrumentalists along the way. Together, they create textured, jazz-influenced folk soundscapes which act as a bed for Rhiannon's bittersweet experiences of womanhood, identity and the working class. In the relatively short time the band has been playing together, they have garnered a healthy following in Leeds and beyond, and have released their debut EP - pressed to vinyl as Private Regcords' first physical release - to much acclaim; with BBC radio plays for singles B.B. and Indulge, and the EP being named one of Far Out Magazine's top 15 independent releases of 2025. - LADYLIKE - Brighton's ladylike inhabit a particular kind of quiet. The candlelight kind. Natural, controlled, and brimming with a subtle euphoria. Delicately treading the tightrope between folk and post-rock, their sound rolls and retreats. Like an ocean's patient yet pervasive flaking of landscapes, ladylike tracks herald in a gentle metamorphosis that speaks to renewal, growth and repair. - LAUGHING - Sad, vaguely gothic cowboy pop, featuring slabs of sound dissipating into eerie interludes. Broken 80's inflected keys, and rangey dual guitars reaching to the crux of things.
