Yasmine Hamdan first made her mark on the music scene with the pioneering Beirut indie electro duo Soapkills, which she co-founded with Zeid Hamdan in the late 1990s.
After moving to Paris in 2005, Yasmine collaborated with Madonna’s producer, Mirwais, on the project Y.A.S., releasing the album Arabology on Universal in 2009 — a record both elegant and crafted for the clubs. Since then, she has gained international recognition as a singer-songwriter and solo producer, weaving together a rich blend of influences: pan-Arab roots, pop and poetic lyrics, electro, soul, and guitar-driven melodies.
Yasmine has worked with filmmakers such as Elia Suleiman and Jim Jarmusch, and has toured worldwide to
promote her albums Ya Nass (2013) and Al Jamilat (2017).
