About Sunn O)))
Sunn O))) (pronounced “sun”) is an experimental metal band from Seattle. They are best known for their often changing sound and for their library of collaborations, including fellow drone band Ulver, Japanese doom metal group Boris, and avant-garde baroque singer Scott Walker.
The group formed in the late ‘90s as a tribute band to Earth, the early pioneers of drone metal. They, in turn, took the name Sunn O))), both in tribute to Earth and to their favorite brand of amplifiers.
